This cyanotype photograph is printed using traditional chemistry and UV exposure to produce a truly unique and beautiful deep blue. It is hand made and the painted borders will vary from print to print. Printed on Stonehenge cream paper 250gsm. Created using source material from the Thomas Bouckley Collection, this cyanotype photomontage brings together historical photographs to create new narratives and offer different perspectives. It combines and unifies different people, objects, and moments together; new combinations of images create new ways of seeing, and our mind invariably looks for connections. This collage creates a fantastical scene where fact and fiction merge. There is dialectical tension between real history versus my own interpretation. These prints walk the line between two worlds, honouring historical authenticity whilst enhancing narrative potential through cut-and-paste manipulation.
