About The Artwork

Since 2007 I am experimenting with new photographic techniques. 'Grow' is a result of using photography, traditional and digital techniques together. This work will be available in an edition of ONE print only! Nature is the essence of life and for me personally a constant source of inspiration. The balance is fragile... lets take care of the place where we all live. 'Grow' is a 50x40cm / 15.7x19.7 inch (paper size is 54x44cm / 17.3x21.3 inch) printed on 300 grams William Turner fine art paper, which is a matte paper with an amazing texture. Strictly limited to only 1 and signed on the back of the print. * Featured in the Saatchi Art 'Best of 2019' collection in December 2019 * Featured in the Saatchi Art 'Best of August' collection in August 2019 * Featured in the Saatchi Art 'New This Week 8-5-2019' collection in August 2019

"My main artistic obsessions are nature, industrial subjects and technology, but I am also deeply interested in the darker sides of society and mankind. Towards art media I take a holistic approach. All the technological developments of the past decades have made it possible for me to experiment with new digital techniques. But I also still use traditional techniques and materials like pencils, paint, graphite, oil pastels and ink. I blend all these new and traditional media in a wild and expressive way, often by building, destroying and rebuilding." -Sander Steins (b1973, Nijmegen, The Netherlands)
