The piece was a test for a commission and came out as well as the commission which has a rectangle format. A gun on your wall can be fairly riveting, but when it is a photo on a nice silver surface and, somewhat decorative, a tension is created between knowing it is a gun and yet also a piece of art. As a photograph the tonal qualities are lovely as is the surface quality of encased emulsion with more actual depth than a regular commercial photograph as it is hand applied emulsion. I find the most interesting quality is the pull between the work looking modern and yet antique.Hanging hardware is not included. These type of works will be some of the longest lasting photographs from this era because of the techniques employed. This piece is available starting July 2020.

Davis, from Toronto Canada, formerly exhibited with Marcia Rafelman Fine Arts in Toronto. He has been a professional artist for over 25 years. Inspired by tin types Davis silver and gold leafs canvas and applies photo sensitive emulsion onto this surface, and exposes and develops directly on the surface. The work is of a high gloss finish. Landscapes, still life, and fetish objects are the main subject matter. The works will be some of the longest lasting durable photographs from 21st century because of the technique.
