Harvest Moon no.1, Original Cyanotype Photograph

An edition of only 4 of this design, each individually processed and unique. A witchy alliance of flowers and moon, captured by sunshine in a watery blue cyanotype. A cyanotype, or sun print, is an antique photographic process where prints are developed on photosensitive paper exposed to sun light. This cyanotype paper and original print were handmade and processed in a patch of sunlight on an autumn morning. Each cyanotype is incredibly varied in tone and texture, subject to the whims of nature - a splash of water, a passing cloud. The work embraces imperfection. It is tactile and analog, and nostalgic for a bygone era.
