Title: Heaven's Escape (Printed on luxury ChromaLuxe Aluminium)

November on the Isle of Harris. This island is full of surprises and on the day this image was made a dark clouds were rolling in from the sea promising rain. It felt as though the sea was rushing towards the break in the clouds above and then the sunlight from behind me lit up the water in an unexpected burst of colour. The fabulous teal colour of the water around these islands fascinates me, it seems to promise better things to come if we only wait.

Created using new Chromoluxe aluminium printing techniques for high quality large art. The colours just sing!

Simply stunning vibrant pictures that appear to float off your wall. The image is printed on a slimline metal sheet that has a hanging frame on the back (see images) so that it sits out from the wall by a couple of inches, this gives you a shadow that makes it look as if it is floating.

No separate payment for framing, no more breakable glass and expensive heavy frames to carry from house to house, this is scratch resistant durable and will last a lifetime.

This is the latest in high definition quality printing and framing and very few places in the world can produce an image this size in this format. The image is processed so that the dye is sublimated right into the aluminium sheets resulting in superb vibrant colours that last a lifetime.

I have shown a couple of close ups of how this looks from the side with the silver edge of the aluminium as well as the bracket that is on the back. The panels have smoothed corners. This will sit out from the wall a couple of inches when hanging and create a shadow giving it the illusion of floating off the wall.

Your beautiful art will be carefully packaged in a custom made box with plenty of protection for shipping. Shipping tracked and signed for as standard.

Takes approximately two weeks to get ready to ship.
Also available in a 60 x 40 inch size and on canvas or fine art paper on request.

About The Artwork

Title: Heaven's Escape November on the Isle of Harris. Printed at this large size for impact, this will fill a whole wall, looks great above a sofa. Printed at 70 x 40 on fine art heavy weight canvas plus 2 inches of black border for the sides of your frame. About My Materials People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use. Arches-Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI, their paper was used by Voltaire and Napoleon and the Montgolfier brothers used Canson paper to make the first hot air balloon.

As a professional photographer I travel often to the islands of northern Scotland to make my images in places that provoke a profound emotional reaction. The colours, the textures, the wildness of the places and the history are all intertwined in a fascinating, and often bewildering melting pot of sensation that forces me to make art. After moving many times to get to where I should be, I now live on top of a cliff at the northern end of the Isle of Skye. Skye is a large and very beautiful island in the far north of Scotland; a place of inspiration, myth and legend. The beauty of the landscape draws artists and walkers, photographers and lovers of Nature like a magnet, and I am likewise smitten. Skye has a ruggedness and intense green hills that would make anyone pick up a camera or a paintbrush. My work has moved through variations on a theme of movement and colour. Whether the camera moves or I move or the landscape moves it is all the same. Colours, moving blending and soaking into one another create a sense of playfulness, the feeling you get when the wind is in your hair on a bright sunny day. More and more I wonder if there is any end to how one can capture the colours, the lines and the essence of a place. In my studio today, the bright green Hill of the Red Fox is shrouded in a light mist, the wind is howling and the clouds are moving quickly across the hills. It is a scene that makes my heart sing. I hope my work conveys some of the joy I feel when I see these colours, the harmony and the wind singing through it all. It is at least a quest that, hopefully, will last a lifetime.
