Hippo at the End of the Tunnel - Limited Edition 5 of 10 Photograph

I was inspired by a series of tunnels along the Hood River in Oregon. Formerly used by the railroad, they had been abandoned for decades, then refurbished in recent years for use by hikers and bicyclists. If I present a photograph of a tunnel entrance, I'm essentially forcing the viewers eye to the end of the tunnel, and I feel obligated to provide a "payoff" there. There are, of course, endless choices, which I narrowed down by thinking of the oddest possibilities. The Hippo, which I had photographed at the San Diego Zoo was the perfect choice. I contacted the Hippo's agent and worked out a deal. Turns out, Hippos are tough negotiators.
