For Phoenix the extraordinary beauty of nature and wilderness are a wonder. Attempting to fix them in time is her passion; photography is her art. Known for her painterly approach to composition, light, color and texture in her photography, her works have been successfully represented for the past five years at the ENDANGERED Exhibit, Art Basel, Miami. “Every time I go out to photograph nature I really find myself going within. Photography is my way of communing with the Universe, Source or God ...whatever one may call that divine essence.” A celebrated, award-winning nature photographer, Phoenix was the featured artist for the first Endangered Exhibition in England and recipient of two artist residencies - the Olive Stack Gallery in Ireland and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, two prestigious art grants and eight public art projects. Her works have been honored in numerous juried exhibitions, showcased in 20 solo exhibitions and featured in magazines and calendars worldwide. When not traveling, Phoenix's primary photography studio and sanctuary is South Florida's wetlands and the Everglades in particular.
