About The Artwork

This work-in-progress Plymouth shows up regularly on Electric Avenue in Venice, California. Have not met the owner yet, but maybe I will someday. I try to capture car pictures that are about more than just the car. Always parking in different spots as necessity demands, I have snapped this Plymouth several times against different background settings. This time I thought I scored bigtime when I found it lounging against a complementary wall ... then the guys walked by and we have a bingo! (We just say bingo) One final note: my family used to have a 2Tone Green Plymouth just like this, so I spent many a road trip mile in the back seat with my siblings, all of us well mostly behaved at mostly the same time. Image size approx 12 3/4" x 19" printed on 17"x22" paper. I used Canson Rag Photographique to print this -- it yields a slightly muted image that departs just slightly from a hard reality. Image capture September 2018, printed October 2018 Print #1from Edition I of 25 prints + 2 A/P this print is not framed

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I have worked most of my professional life in the movies. That experience has left me with an instinct toward a narrative in my photos. Not always as a straightforward story, but at least as a structure to organize pieces of an image to work together. I look to elevate the mundane in my work, to create an image that rewards repeated visits. Much of my work is a continuing portrait of Los Angeles. I moved to Los Angeles as a young man to go to UCLA Film School, and it turned into a lifelong adventure. I have collected some in my self-published book “Small Pieces of Los Angeles briefly Illuminated”.
