Born and living in Sussex, Derek's love of photography started in 1996 when he brought his first 35mm SLR camera, and has been passionate about photography ever since. After a change in career in1998, Derek has put his time and effort into his photography; studying books about all aspects of photography, such as composition, light etc.
Much of Derek's work is based around the stunningly picturesque Sussex coast and countryside, and around the UK.
In 2000, he held his first local exhibition of landscapes, and has held at least two exhibitions per year ever since; where his prints and pictures have been acquired by clients from all over the world. Derek credits: "Pictures published in journals such as, Amateur Photographer, Practical Photography, Sussex Life, Outdoor Photography and BBC Country File Magazine."
A major Card Company uses Derek's images, which are sold through a number of retail outlets.
His images can now be seen and acquired from two major Internet libraries and .

"Since taking a career in photography, I have travelled to many places such as Cornwall, North and South Wales, and the Lake District Cumbria and most recently Croatia and Italy; seen breathtaking scenery and the most colourful sunsets and sunrises.
I have held 10 exhibitions and have supplied pictures to people living in far away places such as America, Canada and New Zealand.
I hope I have given many people a great deal of pleasure though my pictures.
