Ships in a Box
I met Inez while sailing the Caribbean on a four-masted ship. She was strong and climbed 100 foot masts to release the sails, when I finally got the courage to ask if I could take her image I realized that she was soft and fragile and sweet. I love this image and the magic happened when I processed the film, printed the image and transferred part of it to a gel plate where I then pull it with acrylic paint with hand-made mulberry paper. The final piece is a unique and delicate multi-layered work of art.
