Andrea Spagnolo was born and live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Bachelor´s Degree in Advertisement, graduated with honors. She used to work as an Account Director, responsible for national and international client support and communication, from different industries. She worked many years at the local DMB&B New York affiliate. Her passion for photography continued to grow and she had her first solo show in 2005. Quasi self-taught, the experience as advertiser outlined her photographic style, transforming her into a conceptual photographer. Statement My experience as an advertiser outlined my conceptual photography style. My work focuses on philosophical aspects, with an emphasis on the human being and his environment, its limits and the constant search for harmony. The images transmit an underlying feeling of human fragility, questioning actions and their consequences. The landscape is a recurring theme as it transforms and modifies its contemporaneity. I propose scenarios open to reflection. I work with everyday objects, with what is within my reach, with the available scenario, I have no technical limits to represent an idea, I try, I improvise until I manage to capture it. I experiment with different supports, techniques and processes, analog and digital. Sometimes I work with installations, videos and ephemeral actions. I am seduced by the snapshot, Polaroid photography, perhaps because of that inevitable vulnerability, because of the nature of its imperfection, also latent in my work.
