"Optimism exists; But where is it now? After the barriers? In the top of a tree? Or traveling in the vastness of the sky, drawing clues helped by the clouds in order to find myself and move on? There are no references to locate myself in space. The north can be anything; I imagine, I believe and continue. In addition to that the walls stand tall, broad, sometimes infinite; It is a difficult maze to decipher, difficult to traverse. The uncertainty generated infinite sensations. Optimism exists; But where is it now?" This image was shot in Caracas, Venezuela. It has been digitally manipulated to represent the artist mood. Loneliness, nostalgia, optimism, are a mix of feeling which some people encounter and create their own world to keep going without knowing a route, without seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I created my own world because I’m sure optimism exists, I just didn't know where it was.

Camilo Carvallo Cristo is a Venezuelan advertiser, filmmaker, and photographer. In 2005, he decided to complement his advertising career by pursuing a BA in Filmmaking in the United States. He has directed commercial and promotional spots for television, as well as short films. He has also carried on different artistic, editorial and advertising photography projects in Venezuela, the United States and Colombia. His work has been part of different kinds of exposure, such as international film festivals, TV awarding events, and exhibitions at iconic sites such as the Venezuelan National Art Gallery. He currently continues his work as an audiovisual director and photographer. Nonetheless, being attracted by the exploration of the diverse perceptive options regarding images, he constantly develops his creativity and experimental initiative within the visual arts, like mixed media photography among other proposals.
