This is the medium size edition of my contribution to the Venice Art Biennale’s exhibition Personal Structures. The large size version will be exhibited from April - November 2022 at the Palazzo Bembo in the centre of Venice. Into the Rising Light is a photographic kaleidoscope, based on my images of a contemporary hotel complex in Denmark. It portrays a densely built, dynamic place, full of rhythm, angles and reflections. This is an associative reference to my idea of Venice. In my view this city has a similar hectic atmosphere, with streets full of hidden corners and the omnipresent reflections by light and water. To match the historical context of the exhibition space, the work also subtly refers to the past. The symmetrical composition, in central perspective, is a spatial representation developed in Renaissance Italy. The color palette also makes my work a tribute to Renaissance painters such as Giotto and Girolamo Marchesi. This is a ready to hang artwork. It is a photographic print on high quality paper behind plexiglass (Diasec) in museum quality finish. The plexiglass provides remarkable depth and brilliance to the art work. For extra stability it has an aluminum Dibond backpanel and a hidden wall mount frame. Medium size limited edition of 8, personally signed and certified. Other dimensions available: Extra Large (200 x 200 cm) - 2 panel image behind plexiglass. (at the Venice Biennale 2022) Large: 120 x 120 cm / 47 x 47 inches (print behind plexiglass) Small size: 45 x 45 cm / 17.7 x 17.7 inches (Diasec / print behind plexiglass or pigment print on paper) Please contact Saatchi Art if your desired option is not featured on the website yet.
