Deanna DeShea is a fine art conservation photographer working across the conservancies of Kenya and Tanzania — Loisaba, Amboseli, Ol Pejeta, Samburu, Reteti, Solio, and the Serengeti. She travels alone, stays in the landscape, and photographs named individual animals in direct presence. No pursuit, no staging, no bait. The work is black and white. Limited editions of 50 per size, signed and numbered, produced on Hahnemühle bamboo paper for permanence and tonal depth. Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Among the subjects: Loshami, the melanistic leopard of Loisaba — the first verified black leopard sighting in East Africa in nearly 100 years. Ulysses, one of Amboseli's last super tuskers. Najin and Fatu, the last two northern white rhinos on earth. Baraka, a blind black rhino at Ol Pejeta. Long'uro, an elephant at Reteti who lost half his trunk as a calf and is preparing to return to the wild. A portion of every acquisition supports named conservation partners across East Africa. The prints exist because these animals do. And because some of them are running out of time. Published in Mother Magazine Volume 3 alongside Jane Goodall and Sophie Darlington. Gold Award, Wildlife, One Shot Photo Contest. Work held at E Gallery Studios.
