Angelo Zzaven was born in Castel di Judica (CT) on 20 of April 1961and became interested in photography in a conscious way in the early 80s. From 1986 to 1991 he was a member of the Photo Club Misterbianco, formative experience in which he is an active member and participant of many initiatives, including the creation of the “The Biennial Photo Exibition " City of Misterbianco and organization of exhibitions of Mario Giacomelli and Enzo Sellerio. Between 1987 and 1988 he attended the workshops held by Eva Rubinstein, Ralph Gibson, Gianni Berengo Gardin and Angelo Cozzi. In 1988 he was the finalist of the contest “Lands in sight” in Parma organized by Agricoop magazine. Among the jurors who selected him were Arturo Carlo Quintavalle and Luigi Ghirri. In the same year in Avola he won the "Golden Almond" prize for photography. In 1989 he turned to professional and deals with commercial, advertising and ceremonial photography, in 1991 he founded in his own studio the “Portfolio Club" photo gallery which will remain active until 1996. In 1999 the magazine "Gente di Fotografia" publishes its portfolio based on the series "Places of memory" with the critical text of Enzo Carli. In 2002 comes out his first book "The shape of thoughts" with a preface by Giovanni Chiaramonte and afterword by Giuseppe Condorelli. The years that follow see him involved in the digital revolution, he deepened his computer skills and since 2003 combines the work of photographer with graphics and digital processing related to photography. In 2013 he was invited to join the project Bestselected photographers in the network. Also in 2013 he founded with other authors the small group "unopuntosette”. In 2014, the online magazine C41 Magazine publishes its portfolio based on the series "Mental landscapes". In 2016, the online magazine Monovisions publics along with an interview, a portfolio treated from the series "vain attempt to remember." In recent years his photographic projects become more and more autobiographical and self-referential, investigating along the margin between graphic idea and concept. Being present on the web through its own website, blog, community and social network, has numerous exhibitions and publications.
