Lake Fyans 12 Photograph - Limited Edition of 10

I visited Lake Fyans, a small reservoir in the Grampians National Park, in Australia, where at the edge of the lake I found inspiration for this photographic artwork in the detail of trees, shrubs, and vegetation near the shore. The absence of sky or land in the composition results in a unique interpretation of just trees, water, and reflections of the surrounding landscape, presenting an abstraction of nature that create other places in the viewers imagination, making a strong statement about ordinary locations taking us to otherworldly places. There is a sense of movement in this detail-rich work and at the same time, complete stillness – encouraging contemplation, and reflection. From my series Lake Fyans, Lake Fyans 12 has watery textures awash with deep, dark earthy palette of rusty, chocolate browns.
