The last day of stillness: the sound of a single sunbeam coloring our day with wonder Starting on the day of winter solstice, the length of the day is the same for about 12 days: no more minutes go off, none are added. That makes the 12 days after December 21, the silent days. Silent, because the sun seems to stand still for all those days before it will start lengthening our days again. Silent, too, because the darkness helps us settle down after the growing season has ended. Silent, because at the light of a candle we can find a moment of introspection and listen to the words of inner voice. Silent, to be able to listen to the soft inviting tones of sleeping nature, to enjoy fine company, a good book, of just being allowed to be there for another day. For these digital artworks, I start with one or more photographs made by myself, which I edit in multiple process runs and in several layers by color manipulation and adding and editing multiple digital photographic effects, until a surrealistic atmosphere is created that touches me and tells the story I want to tell. The photograph I begin with has an impressionistic, surrealistic and/or abstract realist style, which is the basis for all my work.
