The extraction and processing of calcarenite represented a great source of work and income in past for the inhabitants of the island It is precisely among these open-air quarries, among caves, tunnels and labyrinths that the most surprising and magical beauties of Favignana are found, the underground gardens. A beautiful story to know is that of "the impossible garden of Villa Margherita". A redevelopment work of this place, carried out by the owner who in 30 years has transformed, with her love for the island, a hostile and barren labyrinth into a splendid botanical garden.
