Gold Medal Winning at PX3 Prix de la photographie de Paris Massimiliano Mona was born in Castellammare di Stabia on 07 10 1979. He approached photography at the age of 25, starting to photograph his first daughter between school performances and Sunday walks. Photography kidnaps him immediately and although the first results are certainly not masterpieces, he works to be able to study the basics of photography by himself. Among books, magazines and the web he approaches into the great contemporary photographers, authors of images that have characterized the history of photography and strongly influenced its formation and vision. Within a short time he joined several photographers, starting his first professional experiences. Over time, his style and his photographic vision consolidated more and more, making him able to get his first works in the field of fashion. Subsequently, in a completely fortuitous way, he accompanies a friend to a dance show, during which he gets the opportunity to photograph. The first shots were to be forgotten ... but the low lights, the backstage preparations, the power and elegance of the choreography, pushed him to study the techniques of stage and dance photography and to look for every useful opportunity to photograph shows and dancers. Today his photographic style in the sphere of dance is clear and recognizable. Precise compositions and research of the moment characterize his images captured behind the scenes. Skilful use of light, dynamism and elegance are the cornerstones of his portraits.
