It just so happened that fashion and botanical photography have become my favorite genres. When I take pictures of flowers, I do my best to combine these two genres: floral images represent a significant part of my portfolio on the VOGUE.IT website. Needless to say that an even more significant part of the photos was simply destined to be buried in oblivion on the hard disk of my computer. They had been kept there until one day I came up with the idea of breathing a new life into them using them in my collages. I was struck with the idea of collages when I was carried away looking into a handmade kaleidoscope and, as if mesmerized by the dance of multi-colored glass pieces, I seemed to get back into my childhood. The first series of collages was called Kaleidoscope. After that the Suzane series was born imitating handmade embroidery in Central Asia where I come from. Creating collages from the series "Molecular Chemistry of Botanical Photography", I aimed at conveying the image of a flower bursting into thousands of molecules. I’m dreaming of making huge stained-glass windows from my collages, so that the sun passing through them created bizarre color patterns. I’m also fantasizing about setting up a digital multimedia project which will involve all human senses for perception of beauty: vision, hearing and smell, and a person will completely immerse into the insides of the flower and will become an integral part of it.
