About the Artist
Carney Malone
Carney Malone lives in a decrepit house in a boring town in the depressing Hudson Valley. Now retired, Carney was a farmer, garbage man, waiter, dish washer, computer programmer, civil servant and college professor. Carney enjoys reading books on history and science. Carney Malone started shooting female nudes in 2010. Carney uses nude photography to explore concepts and relationships. Carney is intrigued by the relationship of facial expressions to body language. Carney admires the photographic work of Peter Basche, Eadweard Muybridge, Albert Arthur Allen, William Cheney Johnston, Man Ray, Robert Mapplethorpe, Richard Avedon and Helmut Newton. Carney admires the artistic work of Bruno Schulz, Rene Magritte, Marcel Duchamp and Salvatore Dali. Carney has published several books of artistic nude photography. Books by Carney Malone: Naked Afternoons; Naughty Afternoons; Pretty Ballerinas; 101 Nudes for Art Students; and 203 Nudes.
