Born and raised in South Africa during the apartheid 70's, private education meant that he was able to attended one of the few mixed race schools in the country. Growing up with a broader perspective and a natural inclination towards challenging the status quo rewarded him with a great deal of frustration within an ever evolving social washing machine and a somewhat stagnant and Calvinistic market place. Having grown up around photography he never pursued a formal education in the field. Working in a commercial photographic career that has spanned over 20 years he has won photographer of the year from the largest media group in the country, is a Canon brand ambassador, was editor of the country's largest photographic publication and has produced hundreds of covers and editorials. During a period of three years when he focused on film he took the opportunity to begin curating his photographic work. He is a portraitist at heart but has a great love for photography with it's many genres and simply appreciates the ability that light and time have to preserve a moment.
