About the Artist

Yuriy Danchenko

Ukraine

I have traveled the world for business most of my life, but photography has always been my inner passion since I was a student.
After retirement from business, I decided to focus entirely on photography.
I continue taking photos, but since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, I have been photographing mainly in Ukraine.
Now I have the opportunity to offer selected works from my vast photo archive to photography lovers all over the world.
I will also be happy to offer my Ukrainian works that may be of interest to the world community.
This would be too immodest a comparison, but I want to remind art lovers that Henri Rousseau, a French post-impressionist painter, also known as Le Douanier (the customs officer), began painting seriously in his early forties; at the age of 49, he retired to devote himself fully to art.
I also greatly respect Winston Churchill's artistic passion, who never quit politics but created 105 paintings simply for his pleasure.
I love such an approach to self-expression in art, and in my case, in photography, for the aesthetic pleasure of my viewers and myself.
