ABOUT THE ARTWORK
During a recent trek to Portugal, my wife and I rented a car and drove from Porto to Nazare and Fatima. We spent two days in Nazare, which in Fall is a surfer's haven -- with waves reaching 100 feet in height. It was a calm summer day when we ventured on the historic funicular to the promontory overlooking the beach. It was a cloud-filled day, with low fog in the morning that absolutely refused to burn off all day, so much so that when we got out to the lighthouse we couldn't even see the Atlantic Ocean. Anyhow, on the promontory, all these tourists were peering over the edge down to the beach and town below and I sat there and made dozens of photographs waiting to find a scene that captured it all. This girl stood at the overlook taking photos on her cell. Worked for me. Offered numbered and signed, on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Baryta, this measures 24 x 16 -- or 25.4 x 16.8 with borders . . .
