Pane and Mottle #13 - Limited Edition 2 of 23 Photograph

Coming together as a series is 2017, Pane and Mottle started in 2009 and echos my previous work with glass, pattern and abstraction. These photographs through mottled glass may keep you at the surface or invite your curiosity beyond the threshold. Sink deep or float. A space of actual and internal reflections, it encourages the eye to observe pane and mottle, to wander amongst whole and parts, starting point and limit. As with much of my work the images are distortions or abstractions of a real world, an almost tangible landscape, a motivation to focus or drift, reflect or imagine, to search or find stillness.
