Series of "Dear, " - photographic images of magical land owned by indigenous people. Title: Parasite You must be wondering about why this title is Parasite. This tree is only found in Western Australia. This beautiful fire burning tree is called Western Australian Christmas tree (Nuytsia). That's how "Australian" call this tree. However, actually this is not TREE! !!BIGGEST PARASITE in the world!! What a surprise! Ironically, Local indigenous people who have been there since long long time ago, don't like to get close to this biggest parasite because this plant is VERY SPIRITUAL as the sprit of death being resided and it is the way to the land where their ancestors came from.... The contrast of their view of this plant is very interesting and ironic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I just wanted to spread the beauty of spring in the magical land of indigenous people. This land has very unique and beautiful plants which you cannot find any other continents. This land is just magical. While taking picture, I wondered about people, who used to live in this rich and unique environment from long long time ago. They woke up with Sun. They appreciated what they were surrounded. After sunset, they saw and connected to universe under the milliards of stars on the sky. This is simply amazing. In this modern life, how much you live far away from cities, how much you love nature, how much you try to be surrounded by the organic or natural products, every single day until you die, you give stresses to the earth. Any rubbish you dump, will not be able to go back to the earth in natural ways. Now human became an opponent noun of nature. I just admire and respect how indigenous people used to live in this magical land until few generations ago. ☺️ Archival inkjet print on Canson paper ☺️ 4cm with white border ☺️ unframed

SARA PAO (aka Asami Watanabe) is the finalist of Gaffa Photo Fest Competition 2016. She was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, currently based in Sydney Australia. She studied for a Bachelor of Arts in Photography at Nihon University for a few years then dropped out, after that, she moved to Sydney, Australia in 2009. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology at the University of Technology Sydney in 2018. Although Environmental Science was completely different from Arts, she had to learn because simply she loves nature and the ocean! She also attended workshops, The edit by Rachel Knepfer who is an ex-Director of Photography at Rolling Stone magazine, and Projects & Stories by Martin Mischkulnig at Australian Centre for Photography (ACP) in 2018. She started her NFT projects as Ge:mini (Twitter @Geminixphoto) in September 2021. Her photography explores something beyond emotion, something that is not yet visible but is or was already there, it could be something coincidental, latent or universal. Also, it is the result of the reaction between the layers of space-time and the physical visual information in front of her eyes - present -, which is transmitted to her brain via lenses and then her eyes. Firstly, the emergence from unconscious envisions (these unconscious envisions could be in present perfect or present perfect Continuous ) occurs then the synchronicity begins. This synchronicity could be indefinite. She calls these processes below. 桃源郷(TōGen-Kyō): No one can reach TōGen-Kyō unless you never want it, If you want it badly, you will never find it. Never exist physically, it is in your mind.
