Born in Denmark, Jacob is a fine art and editorial photographer based in London. From a very early age, Jacob had played and experimented with cameras and B&W image making in a traditional darkroom, enjoying the wonders of seeing a photograph come to life, under a faint red safety light. At the age of 18, he moved to Copenhagen to study photography, at the Copenhagen College of Photography, and was later accepted for an apprenticeship with the prestigious Copenhagen photography studios, Schiller & Co.
Having spent many years working in commercial and editorial photography, Jacob’s true language has always been rooted in his fine art work, exploring and translating his intimate subject matter. Often working on periodic storylines or obsessive re-visiting, where the subject is revealed over time, Jacob continues to evolve his language.
