About The Artwork

This piece is part of the “Urban Impressions” body of work, that was created as a manifest for reconnecting with the invisible and the present moment, in order to find the beauty that surrounds us without us noticing it. This pieces are hence captured through the lens without any kind of artifice or artifact, using only the natural light of the scene and optics of the camera, without any digital post-processing altering the reality as it was experienced. As with the impressionist painters that I love, the aim is to inject the scene with the emotions of the moment, "making room" to these emotions by removing information. The use of blur (or "bokeh" in photography) is crucial in that sense, in order to get to the depths of our feelings, bypassing in some sort our intellect. It creates a frontier between what is visible and what is not, creating a direct link to our feelings and memories, not our thoughts.

www.pedrocorreaphoto.com Pedro Correa is an internationnally acclaimed fine art photographer, displayed in the US, Europe and Asia. "After studying oil painting at the Royal Academy of Beaux Arts in Brussels I fell in love with photography. The result is a very personal style of impressionistic photography and a passion for capturing the ephemeral beauty of big cities. I don't photoshop or alter the moment: there is no need to modify reality, beauty is already out there."
