What is real? What is an illusion? Can the illusion speak more powerfully than the “real”? The digital revolution in the arts has provided wonderful tools to create surrealistic imagery. I no longer just take images but rather, make images. I may shoot objects with a final image in mind, or just collect them for my “library” that I draw from when an idea comes to me. Color helps conjure emotions and excites the senses. These images may use one predominant color or a complimentary palette. Picture The Ocean speaks to the interconnectedness of water on this planet. Every drop has been here on Earth for billions of years. Passing in and out of all living things. Picture the Ocean is produced in a limited edition of 10 in it's largest print size. It is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 with Archival Pigments. The image size is 40 inches x 40 inches with a 2" border for a final work that measures 44 inches x 44 inches and is shipped in a crush-resistant tube. Signed and numbered on the front, it also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The Certificate of Authenticity has a unique hologram and serial number system that is also present on the back of the Limited Edition print. Your Limited Edition print will be registered with the Hahnemühle Art Registry. You can also acquire the image in various open edition sized prints with a choice of framing or as a gallery-wrapped canvas.

Marc Ward is a Florida born artist that resides in the mountains of East Tennessee. Though he now lives on sloped ground, much of his work is still shaped by the expansive views of his home state’s flat land and water. During the 70’s and 80’s his three dimensional work was exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions including the Smithsonian Institute’s Renwick Gallery. The 90’s and 00’s saw he and his wife Kathy, operate their own gallery that represented the work of 150+ artists and craftspeople. Also, during this period, Marc started a firm that produces equipment for potters, sculptors, glassblowers, and metal casters. Now, his photographic based work is exhibited nationally and internationally with his work garnering awards such as the International Black & White Spider Awards and the International Color Awards.
