About The Artwork

This Pink House in Charleston is believed to be the oldest residence in Charleston. Somewhere between the late 1600's to 1712, John Benton is said to have built this small one-bedroom at 17 Chalmers Street. in the French Quarter district. Thru out the years the building has had many uses, tavern, brothel, law office, private residence and art gallery. This beautiful building has survived earthquakes, fires, hurricanes and the civil war which damaged other parts of the city.

I use photography as a means to document the world around me. I make pictures that call attention to things that other people overlook. This exploration of the overlooked helps me engage more deeply with where I am in space and time.
