ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I often see lighthouse pictures with beautifully calm waters and a perfectly clear sky, however, lighthouses to me conjure up images of rugged coastlines, dark skies and choppy waters. For this reason I chose this less than favorable day to photograph this very historic lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth near Portland, Maine. Construction started in 1787 and finished on January 10, 1791. It was originally illuminated by 16 whale oil lamps. My photography is very unique. I only shoot large format using a computerized robotic mount that takes the image in a series of tiles that are later joined together to create a super high resolution panorama. The resulting image can be printed at extremely large sizes whilst still maintaining ultimate clarity and detail. This method also allows the image to be distortion free as only the best part of the captured image are used in the final joining resulting in a flawless image. Many people have said that my images are so detailed and vibrant that it is like looking out of a window. This is especially true of a large format print like this that completely immerses you in the scene. Additionally, I print on a fine art metallic paper which greatly enhances the look, giving the piece a shimmer that greatly enhances the colors and depth.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I am a photographer specializing in very large format work. I have an obsession with producing an image with insane amounts of detail no matter how big the finished print will be. I use a selection of specialist equipment to achieve this goal and strive to provide a finished item that is almost like being there. Nearly all of my work is fused to the rear of acrylic which gives it an almost three dimensional appearance and I have been told it is like looking out of a window.
