About The Artwork

The sea, which was seen outside the window, exists in my memory, but now it is no longer. In the process of the sea disappearing and land formation, we began to wonder what nature was like in humans. Enter the area where the reclamation is under way, observe and record as you walk around. Buildings climbed over the sea that disappeared and roads created new cities, and unlike its structured downtown, the surrounding nature is left disproportionately unattended. The seashells caught from the ground were left dead, just as it showed that a long time had passed, and the shells, empty inside, gave a feeling of emptiness as if to tell the situation there, coexisting in the current situation that is changing rapidly but looking tough. From the observer's point of view, they try to show how far 'human' and 'natural' have. I try to record and prove the fact through the medium of photography. - Since 2015, I’ve been recording changing landscape of polderland and bizarre forms that have appeared inside. By trying to find my memories from disappeared, newly made artificial spaces, and traces lefted in polderland, the recording shows the gap emerging between conflicting things. I’m trying to convey the perspective of futility and of an emptiness by combining mixed landscapes into one image, though the subjective feeling of regret mingles from changes and disappearance of scenery I had watched in childhood.
