My name is Mihaela, I live and work in Sofia, Bulgaria. I balance my work as a kindergarten teacher with my love of art, bringing together two practices that deeply inspire me. I have a deep appreciation for the timeless beauty of classic black-and-white photography. My love for vintage aesthetics led me to set aside my digital camera for the most part. However, I still occasionally use it for experimental work. I’ve found a unique charm and challenge in shooting with an analogue medium format camera, embracing the artistry of traditional black-and-white film development. I occasionally explore experimental techniques such as collage, chemigrams, and lumen prints, and at times extend my practice into drawing.
