What/who inspired the work? This work is inspired by the quiet elegance and natural geometry found in succulents. I’ve always been drawn to the way these plants embody both simplicity and complexity, with their repeating forms and symmetrical patterns. Nature’s ability to create such intricate designs that feel almost meditative has been a major source of inspiration for this piece. What do you hope its viewers will feel/think? I hope viewers will feel a sense of calm and mindfulness when viewing this artwork. The repetition of patterns is intended to evoke a meditative experience, drawing the viewer into a tranquil state. I want them to reflect on the calming effect of natural repetition, and how the beauty of these plants can inspire a moment of peace and introspection. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? I chose monochrome photography to distill the visual experience down to the essential elements of texture, pattern, and form. By removing color, the focus shifts entirely to the soothing repetition of shapes that succulents naturally create. The subject matter—succulents—was chosen for their geometric beauty and the way they invite contemplation. The minimalist, abstract style enhances the meditative quality of the work, highlighting the calming effect that these organic patterns can have on the mind.

Embarking on a lifelong journey of exploration, I am a cross-cultural wanderer, navigating the intricate intersections of identity, life, and psychology through the lens of my camera. Based in London for over 14 years, my upbringing spans the diverse landscapes of Germany and the rich heritage of Russia, weaving a tapestry of influences that infuse my work with depth and diversity. Fluent in three languages, I utilize photography as a medium for cross-cultural dialogue, transcending linguistic barriers to capture the universal essence of the human experience. Each frame is a canvas upon which I paint the complexities of identity, the nuances of existence, and the depths of the human psyche. Grounded in authenticity, my artistry is a reflection of the raw and unfiltered truth of life, stripped of artifice and pretense. Through my lens, I invite viewers to embark on a journey of introspection, empathy, and understanding, as we collectively explore the shared tapestry of humanity.
