ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This photo was taken on Market Street in San Francisco. The subject has a portable shoe shine booth that he rolls out onto the street each day. He dresses with impeccable style and keeps a constant banter up with his many customers. While there were several of them getting their shoes shined that day, I kept the focus of the image on him and the shoes he was shining. This photo was included in the images I exhibited at a four-artist street photography show in a gallery in Manhattan, NY. The actual image size is 14" x 10" and it is printed on ultra premium presentation matte paper using archival inks. It is signed and numbered in the white space below the image, and is stamped with my Japanese hanko (seal) in red ink.
