This image was inspired by the medieval topos of the "Ship of Fools" - a popular allegory dating back to the book VI of Plato's Republic, about a ship with a dysfunctional crew. This theme has inspired various artists over the centuries, not only painters such as Hieronymus Bosch, but also writers and musicians, both classical and contemporary.
Limited Edition Giclée Print. Paper: Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic, printed with 5cm white border. Signed on the front, signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.
This image skillfully combines elements of art and philosophy to create a contemporary interpretation of the "Ship of Fools" allegory that explores the timeless themes of societal dysfunction and the ignorance and stupidity that can manifest in both individuals and groups. This artwork encourages us to reflect on the consequences of a society that is not in harmony and challenges us to reconsider the role we play in creating a functioning and enlightened community.
For printing we use pigmented inks and museum quality archival paper (giclée printing technique) - this means that the light resistance of the colors is more than 100 years, in accordance with Wilhelm Imaging Research.
You will receive the print rolled in a tube, mounting and/or framing is required.

Hungary
Peter Zelei is a Hungarian visual artist who specializes in portrait, conceptual imagery, landscapes and also photo manipulations. From his use of colour and surreality, he creates a reality found only in his imagination, but with an emotion that is undeniably human. He explores the divide between darkness and light, unafraid to explore themes that others may find uncomfortable. His work evokes a connection from the viewer, a feeling of oneness of the human experience and a mystery that will leave you wondering how the story will unfold. He exposes the rawness, surreality, mysticism and yet also poetry of his surroundings. His photographs and photo manipulations are created within an immense subtleness and ease. They take the observer on a journey into the most intimate realms of the human experience. Tina Lorien (Gallerie Lorien)
