Shirahama shrine torii gate study, Izu peninsula Photograph - Limited Edition of 5

I shot this image on my second visit to Shirahama shrine in Izu peninsula. It was a pretty cold and cloudy spring morning, with not so many people around. These conditions gave me the perfect opportunity to climb up the sea stack hosting the beautiful torii gate and frame the gate in the middle of my composition, leaving some space for the sea and the clouds above. A very minimal framing that I was not able to get on my previous visit, when the waves were very strong and I couldn’t get near the cliff. This image is a perfect example of why I like to go back to the same location over and over again, as there’s always something new to be found. The original is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Satin 310 gsm 100% Cotton white satin-finish paper and manually signed.
