A more traditional view of Shirahama shrine torii gate in Izu Peninsula. In this image I love the contrast between the dark cliff and the ominous yet bright sky in the background. This image would never work in color, but the very nature of black and white is to conceal and create mystery: I believe this image is a pretty good example of that. The original is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Satin 310 gsm 100% Cotton white satin-finish paper and manually signed.
