Snow Clouds is part of a series that explores the passage of time. These double and triple exposures at first accosts the viewer with an overload of information, but then forces us to slow down and take a deeper look into the nooks for hints of another reality. Reading like a story unfolding, we first take in the whole, but our eye is then led around the frame allowing us to peek into crevices created where dark overlaps light, causing us to wonder where the image begins and ends. Just as our memories are often re-created through false facts, snippets of memorabilia or rehashed stories with family and friends, the details here are also muddled, and in the end we are left with a newly concocted whole – just as we may create a revised version of a remembered event, person or place.
As a flashback or flickers of a moving film, these multiple exposed images create a way to describe the experience of remembrance and moving time.
