Sohail Arjmand is a photographer, filmmaker and university lecturer. From the age of twelve, after receiving his first photography lesson from a friend, he picks up a camera and starts photographing. An analog medium format camera that used to belong to his father. For many years, he has tried to learn more about photography and filmmaking, and in the same way, in 1986, he joined the Iranian Youth Cinema Association and started making short films. He will receive awards in this direction, including the Crystal Leaf for Best Cinematography from the 10th National Festival of Young Cinema. Eventually, photography and filmmaking will become his main occupation. He goes to university, studies and teaches photography. He is present in several photo festivals as a participant and sometimes as a festival judge. His book “Basic Photography” has been published by Sako Publications and he has other books in translation that will be published soon. His years in Dubai Media City as a Creative Director for Film and Advertising ) Collaborating with the mass media and international advertising companies adds to his experience working with global standards. In Tehran, he now works with advertising and film companies, and teaches private courses at universities and educational institutions in Tehran, Iran.
