Embarking on a creative journey, my exploration of superimpose and overlay photography traces its roots back to the analog realm. In the early days, armed with my FM 2 Nikon camera, I pushed the boundaries by ingeniously layering images. The process involved shooting a single roll of film multiple times, introducing a captivating layering effect through rewinding and reloading—an intricate dance with negatives often repeated threefold. Advancements in technology ushered in a seamless transition to digital overlay photography with the EOS Canon. One chapter unfolded during my travels in Croatia, where I applied the overlay technique to add depth to my images, capturing the traditional beauty of the landscape in a new light. This vibrant composition, taken at the port of Split, encapsulates the essence of the series. It draws inspiration from the beauty of the people, the historical resonance of ancient cities, and the architectural marvels, including allegorical constructions of palaces and temple pillars. Against the backdrop of the Croatian sunset, this abstract and colorful print becomes a testament to the magic of twilight, where inspiration converges with the canvas in a mesmerizing dance of hues and forms.
