ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This place on the Spree near the Brandenburg Gate plays an important role for me. Often I went there, looking on the invisibly fenced side of the river, less than in 15-meter distance – the east part of Germany, trying to understand. The river was in this area part of the formerly lethal border, that separated Berlin and Germany into east and west. The "new" now connecting bridges over the Spree as well as the open architecture with their perspectives and insights make it clear to me every day that changes are possible. This photograph is part of the series “Mirroring 2, Parliament Quarter"
