Juan Carlos Marcos is a fine art photographer and visual artist based in Madrid whose work explores the intersection between photography and painting, creating images where time, movement, and memory coexist within a single frame. Raised in a painter’s environment under the influence of his father, also a painter, art became part of his visual language from an early age. The Museo del Prado played an important role in shaping his perception of color, composition, and atmosphere. At sixteen, photography opened a new way of observing the world. Trained in analog photography and darkroom techniques, he developed a close relationship with light and the expressive possibilities of the image. His artistic process is based on multiple overlapping exposures and photographic fusion techniques, where different moments merge into a single composition. Movement, reflections, textures, and fragments of nature interact to create images that move between abstraction and landscape. Rather than documenting reality literally, his work seeks to reinterpret it — transforming fleeting moments into layered visual experiences with a painterly character.
