Stella In Blue, 1976 Stella was a French model I met in Los Angeles through a makeup artist. She had long hair that created an interesting pattern when she let it fall to the side. Shooting 6 x 6 black and white film I used this one for its sensual feeling and used a blue tint to add a surreal feel to her. Image size: 18 W x 21 H Print size: 20 x 24 Sherry In Blue, 1977 I had shot photos of Sherry numerous times and found her eyes to be direct and intense. For this photo I burned in the background and blouse she was wearing to focus more on her eyes, then tinted the photo a blue tint. I grew up with photography as my father worked as a reporter/photographer in the late 1940s to the early 1950s, before he became involved in the aerospace industry. Through him I became fascinated with the magic of photography. I began to take photo classes in college and later attended Art Center College of Design, graduating in 1976. I had a small studio on Sunset Blvd through the late 1980s then did a trip to Thailand and decided to move there in 1990. Over the years I have worked for Habitat for Humanity, World Vision, and done assignments for The United Nations, Newsweek, Gamma Liaison, Getty Images. Animal Planet, Homeless International and other organizations in Asia.
