For many years overpopulated cities have been a subject and a reason for research how life can be more enjoyable in cities. But it is always concentrated on the centres, the places to enjoy and where the life happens. Working class is moved to the suburbs and outside to the edges of the cities in order to provide cheap living spaces and than building infrastructure to move masses of human beings to the city centres for work. Not necessarily ghettos or slums but only by making the architecture more modern does the idea behind it change? It was important for me to reflect the impact of the new urban development in a big city like Singapore. At the time when the photograph was taken they just finished the new train system from outskirts to the city center and people just started to move to the big apartment blocks. It all looks new and nearly like a ghost town. By using clear and nearly overexposed tones it reflects the new environment to the suburbs. The images were taken with a high resolution digital back so even from far away I don’t miss any detail as you can see when you look closer to it. The photograph archival grade pigment print, but any preferences, please let us know and contact curator@saatchiart.com. The art print will be shipped with a hand signed and numbered certificate of authenticity by the artist Also if you prefer to get a framed image or need any kind of assistance I am very glad to help so that you get the best experience with the photograph.
