Taming of nonsense 1 - limited edition of 9 Photograph

The leading motif around which the theme of the project revolves is sculpture and installation serving as an object for photographic documentation. With the help of these works I try not to present a particular feature scene, but to balance on the border of the familiar and uncertain, creating a kind of theatre of light, shape and colour. The sculptural forms / puppets used for this purpose, made of styrodur, plasticine, plaster and other similar materials, immersed in an abstract form, are designed to build a specific, strange atmosphere of the scene, cooperate with the rest of the objects, creating a semi-abstract composition. Objects, as well as entire compositions, are created under the influence of the moment, without a specific plan, semi-consciously and quite automatically. One of the inspirations in the creation are hypnagogic hallucinations – on the borderline between sleep and reality, which in my case often appear in the form of a composition of shapes and colours. Another source of inspiration is the Polish puppet theatre of the 1950s and 1960s, where it is important to take it off the plot layer and get fascinated by the atmosphere of the stage, elements of stage design or lighting. Puppet theatre was often close to the poetics of dreams and the logic of sleep, which in a way applies to my compositions. I do not want to distort reality, but to create a new one.
