ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The inspiration for this photograph came while I was visiting a public market in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Seeing these gummy candies for sale, I felt a great desire to photograph them. Subsequently, I had the idea of doing a digital manipulation work on the image, applying a blurred circular effect to it and some other adjustments, to make the color more alive. And the result was the one I present to you, which will certainly win over those who seek something that goes beyond the conventional.

Martiniano Ferraz is a Brazilian artist who lives in Recife, Pernambuco. It was during holiday trips, while still working as an architect, that he was charmed by photography. Nature, architecture and the urban are the themes he usually photographed. From 2020, while isolated in his home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Martiniano Ferraz began to produce also geometric and abstract digital arts, where it is common to have vibrant colors and three-dimensional effects. One of its greatest sources of inspiration, in the use of color, is the art produced by the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes.
