This piece is a celebration of summer plant life. For me, spring is very much a time of green, whereas summer seems to burst with colour and splendour, with happy fragrances wafting through the hours. This artwork is part of my Plant Patterns series. It is comprised of a series of photographs, digitally assembled into a whole, to form a pattern of botanical elements. It is inspired by the botanical wallcharts of the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries - a blend of art, science and education. In this piece, I have explored this convergence of interests with a contemporary and colourful curiosity. // - This fine art print is available in one limited edition size only. - The print size is 96 cm wide x 105 cm tall with a 5 cm border, making the finished paper size 106 cm wide x 115 cm tall. - Each print is created with care using 305gsm Moab Juniper Baryta Cotton Rag. This is a 100% cotton, true baryta (barium sulfate) fiber paper. I have chosen this paper for my work because it is able to hold detail in the shadow regions (which are signature elements of my work), while producing natural highlights and rich colours that are enhanced by the lustre of the fiber surface texture. This Cotton Rag has a high archival rating and is printed with 12 colour Canon Lucia EX pigment Inks and will last over 100 years without fading if displayed correctly. - Limited Edition of 15. - Signed and numbered by the artist, with a Certificate of Authenticity - This artwork is sold unframed.

I’m a Conceptual Artist that loves colour. Admittedly, I have relationships with ideas. I garner the imaginary and I think nothing, at all, is ordinary. With a background in industrial design and mechanical engineering, I bring a unique blend of precision, flair and artistry to my works. I work across many disciplines - resulting in works built from a layering of photography, illustration, collage, assemblage and digital manipulation. The juxtaposition of human life and nature is of particular interest to me, as are the concepts of reality, time and perception. My work is most strongly influenced by the natural world and botanical studies, which I merge with modern techniques, styles and influences from other industries such as fashion and still life editorial. I like to produce works that are colourful, high vibe and witty, with strong narratives - like Garden-fresh Wall candy. Above all else, I like to make the mind smile.
