At the foot of the Trotternish Ridge on the north end of the Isle of Skye lies Loch Fada, a small, ancient loch with a single track road running alongside. This landscape in Summer is one of rich, muted yellows and greens, sometimes lifted only by the silvery blue of the water. Home to leaping fish and wandering sheep; the landscape has remained unchanged through the centuries. The small cottage in the image is built on stilts, it sits in the water with a view only of the loch and in Summer, a couple of small boats fishing. I have yet to find out the history of this place but it is such a romantic place I feel I want to be there, in the water with the loch, the mountains and the sky.

TITLE: The House by the Loch

Listed here as a canvas but it also looks beautiful printed on my beautiful fine art matte paper. Please just get in touch if you need any advice.

I believe in giving my clients beautiful artwork on luxury materials that hold their colours for a lifetime!

For these special prints of my work I use dreamy, light textured museum grade Canvas and the highest quality inks.

People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use.

A few notes worth mentioning:
The size given is image size. It is quoted in inches and in addition to the final size there is an extra border, called a gallery wrap, this is for the sides of the picture.

Canvases are unframed and unmounted, they need to be stretched or framed once you get them. They are matte varnished and come with 2 inch gallery wrap i.e the image will continue round the sides when stretched on the frame. Once ready, they are carefully wrapped in acid free tissue then shipped in a sturdy art tube to ensure safe delivery.

I live on top of a cliff on the Isle of Skye in the far north of Scotland; a place of inspiration, myth and legend. In all kinds of weather, I am to be found on a clifftop or by the beach with my camera. When I discovered long exposure photography back in 2011 and how it captures the subtle magic of early dawn light I was hooked. Here was a way for me to capture the beauty of light, a myriad of colours and make them my own. I am self taught in Photography using my researching skills to delve into the technical side of things using magazines and books for guidance. I love experimenting and started with my impressionist style images back in 2012. The rest of the Photography fraternity (or so it seemed to me at the time) was focussing on just how sharp you could make a photograph and measured success in terms of technical ability. I rarely saw blurry images or creative photography published in magazines and certainly not in photography exhibitions or competitions and so I carried on experimenting in my own little world with no thought to exhibiting. Having moved home three times to find the place I wanted to be, I now have a lovely studio on top of a clifftop with a view of hills and sea, sheep and green fields. Winters are harsh and very windy but my access to the Scottish Islands where I tend to spend a lot of time is easy from here. I am lucky enough to have a patient husband, four dogs and a stray cat and my life revolves around making and playing with painting and photographing the landscape.
