The Instant Before Separation - Limited Edition 3 of 11 Photograph

If you walk far enough down, deep within the confines of Macleay Park you will find an old stone building that locals call, "The Witches' Castle." I hiked there with my model...me with my gear, and she with a suitcase of clothing. I wanted to shoot some photos of her on the rock wall. The floor was unsteady, I was precariously balanced and while taking this shot I slipped. There were a number of shots -all slightly different renditions of what I originally had in mind, but this one...the one that was accidental...this was THE one that captured my imagination. You can see the movement of the camera clearly in the trees and in the wall. But in contrast to the movement visible in the shot from the slipping of my camera, the top edge of her body is crisp. The backwards slant gives me a sense of disorientation. I shot this piece with a Mamiya C330f -it's a twin lens, and my favorite camera. I'm offering this print as a 16x16, but I am also happy to make it available as 10 x 10.
